It is evident
that in our society today, the statistics of single mothers are rapidly
increasing. These are women who opted to
be separated from their partners; may it be their husbands or lovers. It is also trending that there are quite a
number of women who prefers to have a child or children alone than having
somebody who gives them headaches and not to mention heartaches.
Since the number
of single motherhood is fast arising, it is also important to know and understand
the sentiments of what they have to go through. It is not easy to work and at the same time
take care of the children’s needs. There
are so many factors that are contributing in making the lives of single mothers
more difficult. To name a few of these
factors:
bills to be paid
education of children
debts piling up
low basic salary grade
lesser
job opportunities
Being the main sole support, and performing multi role as the main
parent, home maker, nanny, and doing all the errands for both home and school
becomes so stressful and very exhausting.
It is a good thing that there a lot of agencies that offer assistance for single mothers, may it
be private or government that are taking a step to albeit the welfare of these
Single Mothers. Their support would come
in many forms like, trainings for qualified individuals; subsidies for basic
needs, job opportunities. These would
help single mothers to make ends meet with their expenses.
Needless to say that the rewards of being a single mother is when
you can provide everything for your children; and when the children would be successful and
become good citizens of the community.
Of course, all these success would be achievable with diligence, faith,
and love.
